Stamp Out Hunger

Stamp Out Hunger

Stamp Out Hunger, the nation's largest one-day food drive, is scheduled for May 11th. With the support of sponsors, volunteer organizations, and U.S. Postal Service employees across 10,000 communities nationwide, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will be conducting its 32nd annual event.

Donating is simple. On Saturday, May 11th, customers can leave their nonperishable food donations in a bag near their mailbox before their letter carrier arrives. In the days leading up to the food drive, special bags will be delivered by letter carriers along with your mail, which can be used for donations. The collected food will then be distributed to local community churches, food banks, and food pantries.

While all non perishable donations are appreciated, high-protein foods such as canned tuna, salmon, beans, and peanut butter are especially needed. Other desired items include canned fruits and vegetables, whole grain cereals, macaroni and cheese dinners, 100% fruit juice, canned or dried peas or beans, pasta, cooking oil, and boxed cooking mixes.

Please refrain from donating rusty or unlabeled cans, glass containers, perishable items, homemade items, expired items, noncommercial canned or packaged items, alcoholic beverages or mixes, soda, or open or used items. Your contributions make a significant impact on those in need within our community.
